Academy of Music Proposal | Dan + Megan

Daniel Dutcavich and Megan McCarron had a gorgeous Academy of Music Proposal on Christmas Eve 2019. Dan planned this perfectly executed proposal for months prior to getting down on one knee after a private tour of the stage on December 24, 2019 at approximately 2:12pm following a beautiful performance of George Balanchine’s Nutcracker In Philadelphia at the Academy of Music.
Dan, our clever groom coordinated with Jonathan Stiles of PA Ballet to have a tour of the Academy of Music stage that just so happened to end in front of the closed curtains on center stage.
As the couple reached center stage, the curtain rose to reveal the gorgeous auditorium, the “Grand Old Lady of Locust Street,” a glittering chandelier and all the grandeur and splendor of one of America’s most spectacular landmarks–a National Historic Landmark that first opened its doors in 1857. He then turned to her and kissed her before dropping on bended knee for the famous words, “Will you marry me?”
The entire auditorium and all the stagehands erupted into applause when Megan enthusiastically said “Yes!” as tears rolled down her cheek. After the big moment, we posed a few pictures and then went out onto S Broad St for the classic “Broad Street Bride” shot.
Megan and Dan plan to wed in 2020. We wish them the best as they begin their wedding plans!
