Anthony Wayne House Wedding of Karen and Peter
There are so many options to a young couple when they start to plan all the facets of their celebration when they begin to move forward with planning their special event, especially for something like a wedding. Their are so many things to consider – indoors/outdoors, modern/traditional/or old school styling, simple/fancy – the list goes on and on! One of the main points of consideration is where should the reception be held. Again, with so many options, singling out the right choice can become monumental. But once all the options have been viewed and discussions held, all couples come to the conclusion of what venue will best represent their interests and tastes. Such is the case of the Anthony Wayne House Wedding of Karen and Peter. They selected a historic setting for their nuptials that sits on a beautiful piece of acreage in Chester County called the Anthony Wayne House.
This magnificent Georgian-style country manor house is just five miles from Valley Forge in historic Chester County. The most famous resident was Revolutionary War hero, Major General Anthony Wayne (1745-1796). Wayne served with George Washington and Lafayette and led the Pennsylvania line in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown. He weathered the Valley Forge encampment and fought at Monmouth (NJ). After his decisive victory in 1779 at Stony Point on the Hudson River, he became a national hero.
Historic Waynesborough, is a National Historic Landmark in Paoli, PA. Seven generations of the Wayne family continuously owned the property from 1724 until 1965. The original owner of the property was Captain Anthony Wayne, (The Immigrant, 1666- 1739), who had fought valiantly for William of Orange at the Battle of the Boyne. With his wife, Hannah Faulkner, and several of their nine adult children he emigrated from Ireland to the Pennsylvania colony and purchased 386 acres in Chester County, PA in 1724. His son, Isaac (1699-1774), married Elizabeth Iddings, and was an officer in the French and Indian War. Isaac’s son, Anthony, born January 1, 1745, was to become the famous Major General Anthony Wayne.

Guests can dance under the moonlight in the 40′ x 80′ tent with clear panels and find themselves immersed in the romantic ambiance of a gorgeous outdoor ballroom. The Anthony Wayne House on the Main Line is the perfect fusion of elegance embraced by nature’s beauty.
The couple obviously had many decisions to make as mentioned earlier. Once of them also includes selection a photographer who’s talents and vison blends with them as to what memorable moments they want to ensure are captured for posterity. The big day of a wedding involves a lot of preparation. Of course, one of the main things to start the day is the Bride and Groom getting ready for what’s to come as the day progresses. As the first few photos show both the Bride and Groom take their time getting ready for the day. A beautiful gown for the Bride, and a tasteful suit for the Groom. And they’re joined with their selected close friends to help them with the process.
While a couple and their photographer work closely to ensure that many wonderful spontaneous moments are captured on film, the Wayne House Wedding of Karen and Peter is no exception. However, their is a desire, almost need, to concentrate on some more formal pictures that the couple can treasure for many years to come. This involves a more organized approach to coordinate the right participants, the background and setting, as well as influencing the mood that they wish to convey as the camera snaps away. This set of formals helps to exemplify the beauty of the setting, the closeness of family and friends, and the joy all are feeling as the happily pose for this special occasion.
After time is taken for taking formal shots, it’s time to move to the centerpiece of the day – the ceremony. It can be a bit nerve-racking when a couple chooses to hold their event outdoors. Of course, it is always a gamble, as there are no guarantees that Mother Nature will cooperate by providing sunny, comfortable weather to enjoy! But as you’ll see with the ensuing pictures, the outdoors provided a showcase for the outdoor ceremony that selected family and friends were able to enjoy.
At this point many things have started the day, and after the key components have been completed, it is most welcoming that they couple moves to an important part of the day – the reception! This is the time where the couple, their family and friends, get to “breathe” if you will, and enjoy each other’s company as they get comfortable and settle in for some special time with each other. This includes expected things like greeting the new couple, toasting them through drinks and speeches, enjoying food and drink, and lots and lots of dancing! This couple were no exception and incorporated all of these aspects in their brightly lite outdoor space.
As with all good things, there comes an end eventually and for this couple they have managed to make it through the entire day, commit themselves to one another in front of their selected special guests, and celebrated the day until late evening.
