ARCOLA HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY: JOYCE
Arcola Headshot Photography
When we first met Judy, she was a little hesitant about having her picture taken. She hadn’t had a professional portrait taken in years and felt self-conscious about it. We could see that she was anxious and worried. Therefore, we did our best to put her at ease and make her feel like the experience would be enjoyable. We started with a consultation at J&J Studios to see what sort of look she was going for. Judy knew she wanted a headshot for her business profile, but she didn’t know much beyond that.
She thought it would be good to have something professional but still look natural and approachable. We talked about some of the common styles for headshots, including the business card style, which features pictures taken directly in front of the subject with an even lighting source, as well as styles that show more emotion or personality in the subject’s face. After discussing all this, Judy decided on a style that made her look happy and approachable.
ARCOLA HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION WITH JOYCE
We talked with her about what she needed from a headshot—what kind of look she wanted, what kind of wardrobe suited her best, and how she hoped it would be used. The most important thing was to get her comfortable in front of the camera. We achieved it by asking her questions about herself. Furthermore, ensuring that she felt at ease before going on to the different poses. We set up lights to produce soft illumination, which would help create the look of natural light while also ensuring that no one feature took over the image. T
hen Judy got in front of the camera, where she felt comfortable enough to smile. While she was posing, we were coaching her on how to stand or sit differently in each shot. Subsequently, this helped her feel more comfortable as well. After our session, we spent some time editing and choosing the right photo for her needs. Afterwards, she picked up her prints and go home.
WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION FOR WOMEN
If you are a woman and are planning to get your headshots taken, then you must be wondering what to wear for your headshot photography session. This question is especially crucial if you have never had a professional headshot taken before.
So if you want to know more about this topic, then simply continue reading further.
Here is a list of what to wear for your headshot photography session:
- The most important thing is wearing comfortable clothing for your headshot photography session. You should not wear something which makes you feel uncomfortable and restricts your movement during the shoot. It is always better to choose loose-fitting clothing rather than tight-fitting clothes for a professional look during the shoot.
- Choose colors that suit your complexion and make you feel confident when wearing them. For example, if your skin tone is fair or light-skinned, avoid wearing black and stick with lighter-colored clothing like beige, brown, or cream-colored tops. If your skin tone is darker than fair, it’s okay to wear black tops because it may make your face look even darker than it actually is.
- Avoid distracting prints and patterns. They can be distracting from your face and draw attention away from your best features. Instead, choose solid colors that complement your skin tone and hair color.
