There are many beautiful moments in the lives of a young couple who have come to a point in their journey together when they are ready to make a more serious commitment on the road to a life together. That all starts with the proposal. And as you can see from the following photographs, the Azalea Garden Proposal – Anastasia and Thang was one such event!

The setting for this lovely event was the Azalea Gardens in Pennsylvania is located between Boathouse Row and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The fan-shaped garden boasts various annuals and perennials such as daffodils, irises, crocuses, and tulips, as well as hosting over 150 species of azaleas and rhododendrons. The park has been the setting for countless wedding ceremonies and now serves as a relaxing spot for an afternoon of enjoying a few drinks with friends and family at Parks on Tap. The park is part of the Fairmount Park Conservancy. This nonprofit organization has evolved out of Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park Commission. The Commission was a city agency founded in 1867 to purchase land for Fairmount Park around the Schuylkill River in order to protect the City’s water supply and provide the residents of Philadelphia with a place for outdoor activities. This was in keeping with William Penn’s original vision for Philadelphia as a “green country town.”

Based on this history, and the desire to capture this special moment, which apparently was a well-planned surprise for Anastasia, this made the Azalea Garden the ideal setting for the Azalea Garden Proposal – Anastasia and Thang!

As you can see through the gorgeous flowers so wonderfully captured by award-winning photographer John Ryan of J&J Studios of Philadelphia this beauty of this setting is astounding. John Ryan is a gifted photographer, and Anastasia and Thang were very wise in selecting him as the photography to memorialize their special event. But more about John a bit later.

Thang apparently took great pains in planning this surprise proposal. He ensured the setting was just perfect, even in the face of some weather challenges later in the day. You can see the archway so wonderfully decorated along with the champagne to toast the anticipated acceptance of his proposal. Thang also enlisted the help of a number of friends and family, which is captured in the group photo. So many participants sworn to secrecy to help in making this grand surprise an exciting moment for both Anastasia and Thang!

Thang proudly displays the ring he excitedly anticipates giving to Anastasia as he asks for her hand in marriage. it is indeed a beautiful symbol of the bond both of this couple share as they journey towards further commitment following this event as they travel closer to marriage.

Below you can see how friends of Anastasia carefully guide her to the designated area set by Thang, taking their mission very seriously but lovingly as they can appreciate the emotion that will soon to be on display once Anastasia realizes where she is and what is about to happen.
