Bear Creek Mountain Resort Wedding | Macungie, PA | Tiffany & Nick

Sometimes, the people who know us best can be an excellent way to meet other people. Tiffany and Nick are a prime example of this. Nick’s aunt was Tiffany’s hairdresser for twenty years before she set up Tiffany and Nick! J & J Studios – and everyone else – is elated that this couple’s story is continuing. Read on to hear about their Bear Creek Mountain Resort wedding!

Meet the Couple: Tiffany and Nick
J & J Studios actually captured Nick and Tiffany’s engagement photography session, as well. You can read about it and see some of the photos by clicking here. We were so flattered that they chose us to capture their wedding photography, too!

When J & J Studios asked Tiffany what she loves most about Nick, she told us about his sense of humor, integrity, work ethic, and thoughtfulness. Nick sounds like a complete catch, and we’re sure he feels the same about Tiffany!

If you’re wondering about this wonderful couple, here are a few fun facts about them. Nick and Tiffany own a cat, and Nick grew up raising ducks!

How Nick Proposed to Tiffany
Nick proposed to Tiffany on their second anniversary as a couple. On a beautiful night just before they moved in together, they gathered at a bonfire with their families and closest friends. Nick got on one knee by the fire and asked Tiffany to marry him. When she said yes, fireworks exploded overhead, lighting up the night sky! We’re sure it was an explosive moment!

The Wedding Attire
Nick looked dapper as could be in a traditional four-piece black tuxedo with a white vest and tie. His groomsmen wore similar tuxedos. However, theirs had black vests and pink ties to match the bridesmaids’ dresses.

Tiffany’s six bridesmaids looked quite fetching in their floor length warm-toned pink dresses. Tiffany chose to follow the newer custom of choosing one color for her bridesmaids to wear, but allowing them to choose their favorite style for themselves. The result can be more visually interesting for guests, and more flattering to each bridesmaid. Choosing one color for all the bridesmaids to wear, though, still gives the bridal party a cohesive look.

Tiffany looked like an absolute vision on her wedding day! Her amazingly romantic wedding dress was completely enchanting. The gown’s dainty straps, lace bodice, and airy, dreamy, floaty skirt reminded J & J Studios of something a fairy princess might wear. However, the gown’s sheer deep V-cut back and neckline added a modern allure. The neckline also framed Tiffany’s happy face.

About the Wedding Ceremony and Ceremony Location
Nick and Tiffany chose to marry in St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Reading, PA. The stone walls on either side of the altar lent a rustic air to the worship space. The church’s soaring windows let in reams of sunlight. The sunbeams seemed like a manifestation of this couple’s joy and love for each other!

While Catholics can have their wedding ceremony during a full Mass (which is what they call their weekly and daily services), they are also able to choose a partial service. Choosing this means that one section of the Mass, called the Liturgy of the Eucharist, is removed from the service, while the other, the Liturgy of the Word, remains. This omission often significantly shortens the length of the wedding ceremony. It’s also a great solution for couples who may only have one practicing Catholic member.

The sunlight streaming in and illuminating the crucifix and wall behind the altar gave Tiffany and Nick’s Catholic wedding ceremony a sense of the divine.

Nick and Tiffany held hands as they kissed as husband and wife for the first time. Their hand-holding was such a sweet gesture. It lifted our hearts to see it!

But then, Tiffany and Nick couldn’t help but hold each other closer! The sight made the guests – and us – so happy to see!

Formal family portraits at a wedding are important, too! They not only show who attended the wedding, they also memorialize wedding guests and the wedding party as they were on the day the couple was married.

Nick kissed his wife as he dipped her in his arms. You can see here how Tiffany expressed her happiness to be married to her handsome husband!

About the Wedding Reception Location: Bear Creek Mountain Resort
Bear Creek Mountain Resort sits in Berks County, PA. Allentown, PA is the nearest major city to the resort, which is the only ski resort within the Lehigh Valley. Bear Creek Mountain Resort opened in 1967. It was known as Doe Mountain until as recently as 1999. Though Bear Creek Mountain Resort is primarily a ski resort, it is open year-round.

The little bridge outside Bear Creek Mountain Resort was utterly charming! It was also an excellent location for photos. The bridge’s red paint made a sharp contrast to Tiffany’s white wedding gown and Nick’s black tuxedo.

We hope you noticed the red and white lanterns strung in the trees behind the bridge. We thought they were such a cute touch!

The groom and groomsmen relaxed after the ceremony in the bar at the resort. Nick took the position of bartender. We loved seeing how happy newly-married Nick and his groomsmen were as they toasted!

Tiffany and Nick sat on one of the ski lift seats for some of their pictures. The use of that part of the venue made for some really cool pictures!

The resort at Bear Creek Mountain continued the indoor-rock decor details that were present at the wedding ceremony at St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

The use of two crossed skis with Nick and Tiffany’s names on them was a really creative decoration!

Wedding Traditions
When Tiffany and Nick entered their Bear Creek Mountain Resort wedding reception, a fog machine filled the dance floor around them with cloudlike smoke. The effect was magical when paired with Tiffany’s enchanting dress and Nick’s fetching suit.

Tiffany and her dad looked like they were having a blast during their father-daughter dance! Tiffany’s smile lit up the room.

Nick and his mom also looked like they were having lots of fun during their mother-son dance. We didn’t realize Nick had gotten his dancing abilities from his mom. We definitely want to invite them to our next party!

The couple cut their beautiful wedding cake. J & J Studios loved its simplicity and the little pink blossoms and greenery decorating it. Nick patiently fed his wife Tiffany a slice of their wedding cake. He was so sweet about it!

After Tiffany fed Nick, she kissed her husband. It must have been doubly sweet!

It’s (Wedding) Party Time!
The guests were all smiles and laughter as they listened to the wedding parties’ toasts.

The dance floor was packed with happy wedding guests busting a move! It looked like a ball (we couldn’t resist the pun)!

Tiffany chose to participate in the wedding tradition of the bouquet toss. In this tradition, the bride turns her back to a gathered group of all the single women at the wedding. She launches her bouquet into the air. It’s said that whoever catches the bouquet will be the next one to get married. Nowadays, brides often either use a bridesmaid’s bouquet or have a second small bouquet made specifically for the bouquet toss. That way they can keep their official wedding bouquet in good condition.

Nick made the guests laugh as he made his way to his bride to collect her garter for the garter toss. The tradition goes that after the groom removes the garter from the bride’s leg, he tosses it to all the single men, who are gathered nearby. Whichever man catches the garter has to then place it back – but on the leg of the woman who caught the bouquet.

After the guest who caught the bouquet was bestowed with the garter, she changed the game. She had the man who caught the garter sit in the chair. Then, she put the garter on him as he held the bouquet. The guests thought it was hilarious!

Nick and Tiffany exited their Bear Creek Mountain resort wedding reception in a similar fashion to the night they got engaged. Guests held sparklers as Nick and Tiffany made their exit into the night, and into their future together.

Congratulations, Nick and Tiffany!
