The mitzvah celebration is a celebration of Jewish adulthood, and while it comes with many responsibilities, it is an enormous privilege.  The Jewish bat mitzvah is marked when the girl turns 12. For boys, it is the 13th birthday.

Mitzvahs are generally preceded by a mitzvah project like a charity drive or other altruistic work.

At the mitzvah party, monetary gifts in multiples of 18 are considered very lucky.

Mitzvah celebrations tend to be celebrated on the same scale as weddings and definitely mark a very important transition in a Jewish girl’s life.

According to tradition, after children have their bar/bat mitzvah, they are considered adults from a religious perspective and required to observe all the commandments of the Jewish religion.

At the mitzvah celebration, the most popular game is Coke vs. Pepsi.
