DREXEL HILL HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY: NELSON
Drexel Hill Headshot Photography

Nelson was a little nervous about getting his headshots taken. He had heard about how important it was for people to have good headshots, but he had never updated his headshots before. We put him at ease by asking him questions about his career and explaining what he wanted to capture in the photos. Nelson was surprised by how comfortable he felt with us after just a few minutes. Our photographers at J&J Studios’ friendly personality made Nelson feel like they had known each other for years!

DREXEL HILL HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION WITH NELSON
Nelson came to our studio for a headshot photo session. He needed a professional and polished look for his website, resume, and social media profiles.
Nelson had some great ideas on what he wanted, but we also discussed different options as well as new ideas that we could try out.
We started with a bit of testing to see what worked and what didn’t. Nelson was very patient during this process, and we were able to get some great shots that he was happy with.

Next, we moved on to some more formal portraits where we tried some different lighting setups. We were able to get some good variety in these shots, which made the editing process much easier.
Nelson was very excited about the idea of doing something different and unique for his headshot. He was also very open to trying new things, which made the shoot much more enjoyable for everyone.

UNDERSTANDING HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY?
A headshot is a portrait that focuses on the face and upper body, with the background being secondary. Typically, a headshot is meant to show a person’s entire body, including their clothing, as well as their face.
Headshots are for business or professional purposes. They feature in resumes and social media profiles. Moreover, they feature in casting purposes in the film and television industries.

Headshots typically feature an individual facing the camera directly on their own and not interacting with anyone else in the shot. The photograph should capture all aspects of the subject’s face. So, the subject must avoid wearing glasses or hats while having their photo taken. Most photographers will use natural light when shooting headshots; however, some photographers may use flash photography if there is not enough sunlight available when taking photos outdoors. If you’re unsure about what type of photography style you prefer for your headshot session, ask your photographer ahead of time how they like to work best so that you can make sure it meets your expectations!
