Elegant Black & White Wedding at Lucien’s Manor | Jim & Karin’s Timeless Celebration

A wedding is a marvelous event that captures the special moments of a loving couple as they take their journey towards a what promises to be a wonderful life together. And when those moments are captured on film through the photographs taken by a talented photographer the moments live on for many years to come. Such is the case for the Elegant Black & White Wedding at Lucien’s Manor | Jim & Karin’s Timeless Celebration. The following photographs provide excellent proof of this, and are the work of award-winning photographer John Ryan of J&J Studios of Philadelphia.
There are a number of phases in a the day of a couple getting married, and it’s starts with the preparation of the Bride and her Groom, in this case Karen and Jim.
The Bride Gets Ready –
This is a big day for any Bride when they are getting ready to walk down the aisle with the person they love. The photographs below begin to to show the steps the Bride, Karen, begins as she readies herself for what is about to take place that begins the photo collection of the Elegant Black & White Wedding at Lucien’s Manor | Jim & Karin’s Timeless Celebration.

A beautiful shot of the Bride’s wedding ring, along with a note capturing some special feelings.

Two very cute flower girls joining the rest of the ladies who the Bride has chosen to support her on her big day.

A lovely collection of the Bridesmaids lending moral support to their Bride-to-be as they all prepare for the wedding ceremony.

The true star of the day, along with the Bride, is of course her wedding gown. You can see that this Bride took great care in her selection of this beautiful creation. The detail of the lace and beadwork are both intricate and stunning as the gown displays a wonderfully tasteful design that neither overpowers but still exhibits both an interesting and inspiring mood upon viewing.

The Groom getting ready –
It surely is about to be a long day for both the Bride and Groom as the day’s events begin to unfold. So it’s not uncommon for some enjoyment of some spirits to calm the nerves of the participants, in this case our Groom, Jim.

Like the Bride, the Groom benefits from the help and support of members of his Groomsmen’s party. Here the best man is helping his friend get ready by helping with the formal attire that is the choice for the day.

A finishing touch is a special moment when the Groom’s Mom pins a boutonniere on the lapel of her son’s tuxedo. Mom applies a gentle touch to help her son feel more comfortable.

A Father’s First Look –
The wedding of a Father’s daughter is a big event in both their lives. A Dad looks at what was his “little girl” who in now grown, and moving forward with her life by marrying the person of her dreams. It’s an emotional moment as a Father beholds his beautiful daughter in her wedding gown for the first time a deals with a flood of memories all in one touching moment. It’s love, nerves, thoughts of the past, and thoughts of the future all rolled into one.

The Ceremony –
The centerpiece of any wedding day is the ceremony. It’s the culmination of so much planning leading up to this day that solidifies the couple’s commitment to each other that they get to share with the friends and family who have been fortunate enough to have been invited to witness.

Whenever a special event arrives, there are a mix of emotions on all sides of the equation. Birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings – any event that marks a special time in a family’s life that causes pause for those attending to think of special individuals who have been part of their lives but unfortunately are no longer around to join in with other friends and family in a celebratory way. For the Groom he chose to honor the memory of his Father by setting aside a special space for him at the wedding to commemorate his contribution to his life and the regard he has for him.

The ceremony begins with the all the bridal party participants filing in prior to the arrival of the Bride and Groom. The participants of course are those close to the Bride and Groom – the Flowers Girls, the Bridesmaids, the Groomsmen, and the parents of the wedding couple

The Bride’s Father takes the slow walk up the aisle with his lovely daughter as he prepares to give her away to her soon to be husband.

The celebratory kiss at the end of the ceremony signals the union of the Bride and Groom and the official completion of the exchange of vows and the commitment of these two individuals to one another for their journey together and the future they will begin to build as husband and wife.

Formal shots –
There so many moments that are worth capturing on such a momentous occasion as a wedding. The perfect combination works out to be the un-posed, casual moments along with more formal photographs that convey a variety of thoughts and moods. The backdrop, lighting, and pose contribute to the creation of that mood that the photographer is attempting to capture to create what he hopes to be a lasting memory for the couple.

As mentioned earlier the below photograph showcases the combination of pose, lighting, and backdrop to create this lovely photo memory.

The Reception –
There are many considerations that a Bride and Groom must decide on for all of the various aspects of the wedding they are looking to create. This includes selecting a venue that will reflect their taste and provide the type of enjoyment that will create a memorable experience for those friends and family that are fortunate to be included in the celebration. This couple has chosen an impressive destination for their guests to enjoy, the Lucien Manor located in Berlin, New Jersey.
The Lucien Manor is a family owned business and has operated since 1898. This landmark venue sets the standard by which others are measured. For more than 100 years, the seasoned event professionals at Lucien’s have dedicated themselves to the fine art of seamless event production. Whether someone hosting an intimate anniversary celebration or a full-scale wedding gala for more than 500, the staff at Lucien’s is prepared to handle any event with ease and sophistication. Just 15 minutes east of Philadelphia and 45 minutes to the shore, Lucien’s is fulfilling it’s vision to grow an urban island packed with destination-style amenities. At the root of a small craft airport, surrounded by national class golf, first class wineries, and historic eateries and inns, Lucien’s offers guests a place far enough away from the everyday, and far from ordinary, but close enough to home to make an event package affordable.

The blue hue of the lighting in the main ballroom coupled with the gorgeous chandeliers, tabling, and floral arrangements are stunning and certainly can provide the Bride and Groom with a great deal of satisfaction that they made the right choice to celebrate their wedding.

Now the party begins! The entry of the honored bridal party to the room, preceding the Bride and Groom begins to take place. And they’ve chosen a lovely entry in way of dancing in to the room to an obviously joyful tune.

The fun really begins when the Bride and Groom make their entry into the room via a luxurious staircase – a great way to make a grand entrance! After a long day of formalities it’s time for them to start having some fun and partying!

The first dance of the newly married couple is touching, and the addition of the smoke adds a dream-like effect for this couple, like they are dancing on air in some fantasy world full of hopes and dreams.

A featured moment for the couple are the speeches by members of their bridal party. Whether they are family or close friends, it’s a moment for them to reflect on the relationship they have enjoyed with either the Bride or Groom that is worth mentioning in this celebratory moment.

And of course after the speeches is the toast as the entire group of attendees wishes the new couple love and best wishes for their future.

Special touches like the ice sculpture below adds to the ambiance of the occasion.

Another honored tradition of any wedding reception is the wedding cake. It’s an intimate but fun moment between the bride and groom as they cut the cake and feed each other as another sign of cementing their relationship together and support for each other. The cake they selected is beautiful, and the intricacy of roses that adorn it are exquisite.

The dance between the Bride and her Father and the Groom and his mother is a simple yet significant ritual that is still part of modern-day weddings.
The tradition of the bride and groom dancing with their parents, specifically the father-daughter and mother-son dances, originated from a time when marriages were often arranged, and the father held significant authority over his daughter’s life. The father-daughter dance was a way to honor this father’s role before the daughter’s marriage, symbolizing the transition of the bride from the father’s care to her husband’s. The mother-son dance followed, acknowledging the mother’s lifelong support and love for her son.

No party is complete without food, and as you can see, something sweet is always something that is a welcomed delight after the main meal is served. The food is not only delicious but colorful as well.

A final capture of the beautiful bride as the sun begins to set on her special day and the beginning of her new life with her new husband and the life they will build together as they walk hand in hand towards the future.
