Elopement on Addison Street of Bianca and Kody

The sparkle of lights is always a mesmerizing and fascinating experience, especially when it provides a spectacular spectacle of brightness to behold. While lights are usually present for special holidays like Christmas or Diwali and others, it certainly is not limited to just these celebratory events. Lights can add an incredible moving setting anywhere they are implemented. As you will see in the Elopement on Addison Street of Bianca and Kody, the setting chosen is the lovely area of Philadelphia known as Addison Street.
- Early Colonial Roots: Like other streets in Old City, Addison Street developed during Philadelphia’s colonial boom in the 1700s, attracting diverse residents, from tradespeople to early immigrants.
- Architectural Charm: The street features distinctive, narrow Federal and Georgian houses, including the unique “Trinity” style (three rooms over three floors) that became a hallmark of early Philadelphia working-class housing.
- Proximity to Elfreth’s Alley: It’s part of the larger historic district that includes Elfreth’s Alley, America’s oldest continuously inhabited residential street (dating to the early 1700s), showcasing preserved colonial architecture.
- Community & Preservation: The area’s historic nature led to strong community efforts to preserve its colonial character, preventing demolition and preserving the streetscape for future generations.
- Evolution: Over centuries, it transitioned from a bustling working-class area to a desirable historic neighborhood, maintaining its intimate, cobblestone charm amidst Philadelphia’s growth.
Addison Street is nestled in the historic heart of Philadelphia, near significant sites like Elfreth’s Alley and Society Hill.

As you can see, aside from the obviously bedecked lighting that lines the entire street, the simple lighting by a doorstep evokes another lovely, almost hypnotic mood. The red door behind the couple is lit with just regular street and porch lights, but the hue of the color pallet it displays is quite lovely.

The picture below creates an interesting illusion through the reflection of the couple and the lights through a simple puddle of water. It doubles the effect of the components involved and provides an intriguing look through the lens of the camera.

This loving couple has managed to create a wonderful collection of memories through the assortment of photographs collected here and will serve them well as they carry the memories forward in the journey they follow together as a couple.
