Surprise proposals can be a lot of fun – for both the person proposing and the person being proposed to! Will planned a surprise proposal at the Fairmount Water Works for his girlfriend – now fiancee – Natalie. Obviously and happily, she said yes! About the Fairmount Water Works

The Fairmount Water Works is more than just a beautiful, iconic Philadelphia landmark. Though its construction does date back to 1812, it was Philly’s second municipal water works. And, though it was completed in 1872, the Fairmount Water Works was only in operation until 1909. During its time in operation, the Fairmount Water Works used cutting-edge technology and design in its role as the engine for Philadelphia’s water supply.

Located at the base of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Fairmount Water Works is a National Historic Landmark on the Schuykill River. At one point, the Water Works housed a restaurant and lounge. Today, it’s a popular tourist attraction and gorgeous event space. It looks over both Boathouse Row and the Center City Philadelphia skyline. So, we’re not surprised that Will chose a stunning location to propose to his equally stunning fiancee, Natalie!

The Fairmount Water Works Proposal

Natalie and Will posed for us at a spot that overlooked the Philadelphia skyline. Will had his arms around Natalie, and she looked thrilled about it.

When she took a step forward, Will took the opportunity to get down on one knee. When Natalie turned around, she was shocked to see Will holding a breathtaking diamond ring! She cried a little as she told him yes.

Will and Natalie’s Engagement Shoot

After accepting his proposal, Natalie laughed in delight. She kissed her fiance, Will, who looked similarly happy about their engagement and deeply in love with his bride-to-be.

Will literally swept Natalie off her feet here! Our favorite things about these photos are the obvious love on their faces and the effect of the sunlight filtering through the leaves on the trees.

Will led his future bride down the stairs in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She held the skirt of her dress aloft. Combined, it made for an incredibly romantic shot!

Natalie and Will even jumped in the fountain. It was a scene straight out of a movie! From the photos in this engagement session, these two seem like such a fun, adventurous pair.
