Forbidden Drive Engagement
Jamie and Kyle were adamant about commemorating their engagement in an epic spread in the middle of nature. It made sense to take this shoot to the Forbidden Drive, a 7-mile long gravel road to trail conversion in Wissahickon Park located in Philadelphia. Not many people know about this hidden gem that lies along the Schuylkill River, where you’ll find several historic sites and buildings such as Rittenhouse Town and the Morris Arboretum. Jamie and Kyle Forbidden Drive engagement session was an adventure of its own, filled with lots of sweet moments from the lovely couple. We loved capturing each moment of it.
Jamie and Kyle’s Love Story
Kyle and Jamie’s love story is a bit unique. They met through their best friends, who had casually introduced to them during a social gathering. The rest was history. Jamie loved how patient and calm Kyle was. “ I love how he can make me laugh at anytime,” Jamie remarked during the consultation interview. For Kyle, it was Jamie’s caring nature. Kyle describes Jamies as being the sweetest person he’s ever met.
Kyle’s Romantic Proposal
Kyle proposed to Jamie on her birthday. He organized all of their photos of their sweetest moments in a photo album which made Jamie incredibly emotional. On the last page of the photo album, he had written the word “Engagement,” There was a picture of him on bended knee with a ring in his hand. Jamie immediately said yes.
The couple is eager to get married and has already started the wedding planning process. They have already booked the venue, DJ, and photographer. Jamie selected the colors for the bridal party. So far, they are both happy with the wedding choices they’ve made in the last few months.
Forbidden Drive Engagement
Both Kyle and Jamie love the outdoors, and they wanted their engagement photos to be inspired by nature. They also desired to shoot by the water, so with their approval, we chose the Forbidden Drive. The Forbidden Drive was constructed along the Wissahickon Turnpike in the 1800s. When the Turnpike was closed to cars, it was named the Forbidden Drive.
During the shoot, we wandered up the rocky pathways of the Forbidden Drive. It was a beautiful summer afternoon, and the sun wrapped the couple in a warm embrace. Together we explored the trails and lavished in the surrounding natural resources. Jamie and Kyle couldn’t wait to get a few photographs in and around the river.
This was Kyle and Jamie’s first time taking professional photos, so initially, they were nervous. Fortunately, we were able to help them get comfortable in front of the camera.
