It’s located in a 51-story downtown skyscraper, incorporating Philadelphia’s history and culture into its design. The hotel is known for its “Ring Free” design narrative, referencing Philadelphia’s history as the birthplace of democracy, the first planned gridded city, and the origin of horticulture in North America. The hotel shares the building with Element by Westin, a more traditional hotel brand, according to the Wharton School. The design narrative, created by designstudio ltd, celebrates Philadelphia’s history and cultural landmarks, including the city’s grid system, its rebellious spirit, and its connection to art and music. The hotel incorporates local art, including sculptures and artwork by local artists, and pays homage to Philadelphia’s film and music legends, according to W Hotels. W Philadelphia offers 295 guest rooms, including 39 suites, a Wet Deck with a pool and bar, a signature restaurant, an AWAY Spa, and extensive event space. The hotel is now the tallest hotel building in Philadelphia, making a striking impact on the city skyline, according to Hotel Designs.
