Hunting Hill Mansion Engagement.

We love hearing about how happy couples found us to photograph their engagements! Today’s post is one of those. Michele & Zach were our latest engagement couple, and J&J Studios was fortunate enough to explore Hunting Hill Mansion with them on a warm November evening.

In preparation for their wedding, Michele and Zach had a memorable engagement photoshoot at Hunting Hill Mansion in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is also rich in history, which can make for some awesome engagement pictures if planned correctly. J&J Studios was the perfect choice for the couple. The theme was a vibrant English garden, a perfect time of year with the color of fall. Hunting Hill Mansion is a public garden located in Kennett Square, PA – about an hour’s drive from Philadelphia – and it’s one of our favorite places to photograph clients, thanks to its varied scenery.

MEET THE COUPLE: MICHELE & ZACH

We loved photographing this engagement shoot with Michele and Zach. These two were so cute together. Some of our favorite pictures are the ones where they are laughing or snuggling up to each other. It was interesting to see how some of their clothing styles reflected their personalities (Zach had more traditionally masculine clothing, while Michele had more feminine pieces, but they were both comfortable in their skin).

THE PROPOSAL

We were lucky to get a chance to ask James and Alessandra how their proposal went. Both of them looked very happy, and it seems they enjoyed the experience.

Zach and Michele’s backstory: Zach and Michele started dating in 2015. Zach got the idea to propose to Michele at a concert by one of their favorite bands: Death Cab for Cutie. They had bought tickets well in advance and had been looking forward to this night all summer! When the time finally came for them to be sitting in their seats waiting for Death Cab, Zach pulled out a ring and asked her to marry him. Needless to say, she said yes!

HUNTING HILL MANSION ENGAGEMENT

Hunting Hill Mansion is an amazing location for any photography type. With over 1000 acres of land, Hunting Hill Mansion is one of the vast gardens in Pennsylvania, holding over 9000 different species and varieties of plants providing the couple with plenty of scenery. 

We had the pleasure of photographing Michele and Zach in the gardens with the most vibrant plant life around them. In fact, Michele and Zach wanted a fall engagement session with pretty fall colors, and we wanted to capture all of the beauty that Hunting Hill Mansion has to offer. We started the shoot in the conservatory, where we captured portraits of Michele and Zach against different colorful backdrops. We then traveled outside into the surrounding garden for more portraits against various backdrops.

The weather was warm and sunny as the dark crept in! The grounds were well manicured but not overly formal. Furthermore, the lighting was perfect, the colors popping out. The garden features formal landscapes containing walkways, canals, meadows, fountains, streams, pools, and stately pavilions are a gorgeous backdrop for a romantic photoshoot.
