Iconic Philadelphia Wedding Photography – Catherine & Mike

If there is anything this pandemic has taught us, it’s that life is short and precious. So, we shouldn’t wait for the supposed “perfect” moment to do things that bring us joy. We should do and enjoy those things that bring us joy while we can. Mike and Catherine, this meant a small wedding ceremony, complete with photography in iconic Philadelphia locations!
Catherine and Mike learned that difficult and important lesson this year. “Life is too short to wait for society’s definition of ‘perfection,’” Catherine told J & J Studios. She’s definitely correct!
Catherine and Mike have been in love since 2004, so they’ve experienced many significant moments throughout life together. But when Catherine went on what was supposed to be a three-month trip to the Philippines in January and had to remain there due to the spread of COVID-19, they didn’t know when or even if they would be reunited. So, they decided that as soon as they were back together again, they would get married.
And get married they did! On a beautiful Pennsylvania morning in late September, Mike and Catherine were married in a small, private ceremony in the Philadelphia Wedding Chapel. To celebrate, they had J & J Studios capture some gorgeous wedding photos in various iconic locations all over Philadelphia!
Physical or Digital Wedding Photography Sharing?
Catherine and Mike chose to have J & J Studios capture their wedding day so that they could share the photos with their large families. The couple doesn’t use social media much, so they intend to put their wedding photography on postcards. They’ll send them to their family members and friends who couldn’t attend the wedding, so that they can be included in the joy of the event.
Sending out physical cards and photos is an awesome way to keep in touch with your loved ones, especially if they or you don’t use or like using social media. By sending out physical copies of your wedding photography, your friends and family will have pictures from your wedding day to cherish forever. They can frame them, or even use them in scrapbooks – the possibilities abound.
About Catherine and Mike
Mike and Catherine share a long and adorable history. They met in the early 2000s, when they both attended St. Thomas Aquinas School in Philadelphia. Catherine jokes that Mike “would throw pieces of paper at my head to get my attention.” Clearly, Mike’s method worked!
We’d like to share some fun facts about this wonderful couple. They’ve bought, bred, and/or raised about a dozen hamsters over the past six years. Catherine is afraid of butterflies, but is obsessed with Yoda from the Star Wars franchise, and Mike is a car enthusiast and hates and fears spiders.
You can see evidence of Catherine’s Yoda obsession in some of the photos from Mike and her wedding day. We’ve picked a few of our favorites for you below – see how many Yodas you can find in total!
