Intimate Home Wedding Baltimore Maryland | Jenny + Josh
Jenny+ Josh | Intimate Home Wedding | Baltimore, MD
Jenny and Josh were made for each other. According to the bride:
“we balance each other out because of our different personality. Josh is more level headed, logical, calm and patient, and great stress management. I, on the other hand, am always stressed out about every little thing, impatient, anxious, concerned with time management, and high strung. We also have a great amount of trust and respect for each other. I love the fact that we enjoy each other’s company with whatever it is that we do. Whether it be doing adulating things like grocery shopping and running errands, or going on a hike or rock climbing, we appreciate the time we have with each other.”
Jenny and Josh are very much DIYers. Josh constructed the entire first floor of the couple’s home and has a well-appointed workshop in his garage. Jenny enjoys crafts and has an eye for bohemian rustic decor so the pair decided to DIY their entire wedding. The couple has a large backyard so creating the simple, farmhouse, rustic, bohemian wedding of their dreams was within their grasp. And so on a fall day in October, the couple prepared for an intimate home wedding Baltimore Maryland.
Early Saturday morning, October 5, 2019, Jenny began her preparations at the Residence Inn by Marriott Baltimore White Marsh in a gorgeous two-bedroom suite. Makeup by Clarisa arrived bright and early to begin bridal prep. The couple graciously provided us a room the night before so J&J Studios, LLC was on hand to capture the getting ready moments as they happened. After a filling breakfast in the hotel lobby, we got right to work.
After getting all dolled up, the ladies decided to take a short break before getting into their dresses. What better way than to pop some champagne to celebrate the big day. They chose a delicious bottle of André Cellars® Pink Moscato while wearing their White and Pale Pink Silky Lace Robes from Hundred Hearts on Etsy.
After the champagne, Jenny our bride took one last look in the mirror and was ready to get into her dress.
Jenny wore a beautiful White Sophia Tolli Y21975 Deanna dress, a classic trumpet gown with a modern twist.
Now it was time to head over to the couple’s home where groom and groomsmen were preparing in their own way. Whether enjoying a fine Drew Estate Undercrown Shade cigar, drinking Birdhouse Pale Ale or getting ready in their Charcoal Gray Suits from TheBlackTux they all were having the time of their lives.
Before the ceremony started, we had an opportunity to observe the incredible detail that went into the decor.
Before our bride Jenny walks down the aisle, let’s hear about the proposal and the ring!
The Proposal
“My proposal was very simple and sweet; very much like Josh. The proposal was definitely a surprise to me, so much that I thought he was kidding when it happened. We just got back from brunch and grocery shopping, something that we do every Sunday. He called me on the phone and asked if I can come to the garage because he wanted my opinion on something that he’d made. When I got to the garage, he sat me on the bench and gave me a beautiful wooden box that he had made. At first, I didn’t know what it was so I kept on asking “what is this”. As he was starting to say something, I opened the lid and saw a set of gold rings. I immediately got excited and took it out of the box to try it on. I’ve just graduated so I thought the rings were a congratulation present. He then told me to calm down and that is when he took my hands and said how much he loves me and want to start building a family together. Next thing you know, the words “will you marry me” came out of his mouth and I just sat there in silence for a good 30 seconds. I couldn’t believe this was really happening so I kept on asking him “are you serious?” “is this really happening?” “you’re serious?”. Of course I said “yes” after 5 minutes of being in disbelief that this is really happening.”
The Ring
“I actually got to choose my own ring. Josh has always said that when he propose, he will do it with a regular ring so that I can pick out the ring that I want. The ring shopping experience was pretty fun. It’s just like buying a house; you know its the one when you see it. After going to a few different jewelers, I found the perfect ring for me. I decided to go with a halo princess cut.”
The Intimate Home Wedding Baltimore Maryland Ceremony
The ceremony was officiated by Dave Blanchette. It featured a beautiful handmade arbor and the couple recited handwritten, heartfelt vows after which there was not a dry eye in the house.
The Reception
After the ceremony, the dance floor came alive thanks to DJ TNT and the plates were filled thanks to Andy Nelson’s Catering.
