For Teresa, we had fun playing around with different ideas: we used the standard white backdrop you usually see, and we tried an off-center framing technique for another. Headshot photography can be a daunting experience for women, with the pressure of looking just right and not letting anxiety take over. There are a few things that you should do to prepare for a headshot photoshoot. The most obvious one is to get a good night’s sleep. Thankfully, there are ways to help calm nerves and prepare for the photoshoot you’ve been looking forward to.

• Do your research, so you know what to expect.
• Prepare your hair and makeup beforehand, so you don’t have to worry about it on the day of the shoot.
• Bring a few outfits that fit the style you want, even if they’re not pretty yet; you’ll be in good company since most professional models and actresses also do this. 
• Have a friend or significant other accompany you during the shoot; having someone there who knows you well can put your mind at ease. If possible, bring them with you to try on outfits before the shoot, too.
• Get plenty of rest beforehand, as well as food that provides energy for long days; this will keep your mind clear, too.
• Arrive early at the studio or any location for that matter. This will give you time to get comfortable, acclimate yourself, and make any last-minute preparations before shooting begins.
• Be friendly but relaxed around your photographer; they should be understanding.
