J&J Studios recently had the opportunity to tour the Loch Aerie Mansion. As you’ll see, the estate is absolutely stunning, and as we drove up the driveway, the light grey mansion was so breathtaking that we felt as if we were characters in a fairytale. It’s hard to believe that this Chester County mansion sat vacant on this spacious plot of land and in desperate need of renovation about three years ago. Fortunately, Steve and Dana, the current owners, were able to purchase the property and transform this historic landmark into the beautiful mansion that it is today.  As you explore these photographs, you can tell that a lot of hard work and dedication was poured into this mansion. 

The Mansion’s History

If you don’t know, the Loch Aerie Mansion was initially designed and constructed by famed architect Addison Hutton. The mansion was built for William Lockwood, one of the top manufacturers in Philadelphia, in 1865. It was the summer estate for the Lockwood family.

Throughout the years, the  Loch Aerie Mansion had about three different owners. A fire in the late sixties nearly threatened to destroy the property.

In the last few years, the Loch Aerie Mansion has become one of the top places to host wedding ceremonies and receptions. There is a beautiful bridal suite onsite where the wedding party can prepare for the upcoming ceremony. However, the bride, groom, and their guests also have the option of making reservations at the hotel located right across the street. 

When you walk through the doors, the entryway is nostalgic, and you’ll feel as if your home is the vibe the owners were hoping to create. The high ceilings and the opulent furnishing makes the venue feel grand. The outdoor space was immaculate and would make for the picture-perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. 

This Malvern PA, the wedding venue, was everything we imagined it to be. The intricate moldings and adornments of each room lend to the home’s traditional look with a modern twist. Even the restrooms’ classic white yet elegant design and decadent chandeliers are fit for royalty.

When Steve and Dana restored the age-old mansion, they wanted it to be a place where community events, corporate gatherings, weddings, and other types of celebrations could take place. The venue can be booked for approximately 5.5 hours, and they also have their own in-house bartenders and catering company.
