J&J Studios loves to photograph couples at new places. Over the summer, Rachel and Nick invited us to photograph their lovely wedding at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. This venue is a beauty, and we hope more of our clients will consider having their wedding at this location. It was one of our favorite weddings to document, and we cannot wait to share with you all the details and photos below.

Bride and Groom Prep

The bride and groom began preparing for their wedding day. They were surrounded by their friends, family, and special loved ones. Plenty of jokes, memories, laughs, tears, and advice were shared. The rooms that these two were getting ready in were filled with love and joy, and our team of photographers could tell that everyone was very excited for the bride and groom and could not wait to see them embark on their new journey together. Well wishes and words of wisdom were given, and the couple could not wait to reunite and see each other dressed up. The anticipation and excitement continued to grow as time passed by. However, right before the beautiful bride seen her handsome groom, she wanted to have a special first look moment with her father.

Bride’s First Look with Her Father

Some of our clients choose to have a first look with their father as this is a special moment between the two of them. Rachel is very fond of her father and wanted our crew to capture the first time her father seen his little girl dressed in her wedding dress. This became an emotional moment, but it is one that the two of them will cherish forever. Rachel’s parents are very proud of her and were looking forward to seeing her marry the man of her dreams.

About Rachel and Nick: The Newly Weds

Rachel and Nick’s story was really inspiring because they are a couple who have known each other for a very long time and have grown a lot together. They met in grade school and would often altar serve at their church together. They did not talk much except maybe an occasional hello, but that changed in 2014. The two began to really get to know each other that year, and everything took a big turn as they formed a relationship.

It all started at Rachel’s father’s luncheon where everyone was celebrating him becoming a deacon. Nick attended the event, and the two started a conversation. They began talking all the time, going to the gym together, and then realized they both had a strong interest in each other, which led them to start dating. Since the very beginning, the couple have had a spark that they never let fade. When these two are around, you can see the love and happiness that they share, and our team is so happy that we were able to witness their special day. Congratulations on the beautiful wedding Nick and Rachel! We wish you both all the happiness and cannot wait to see what is in store for you guys next!

The Proposal:

Of course, we had to find out the proposal story behind this wedding. Philly baseball fans will love this one! Nick proposed to Rachel at a Phillies game right after the top of the fourth inning. One of the stadium workers who had a camera came to the couple’s section, ran up to them, and Rachel was unsure of what was happening. The cameraman stopped on them, and they were both being shown on the Jumbotron. Nick got down on one knee in front of everyone in the stadium that day and asked Rachel to spend the rest of her life with him. She said YES and could not wait to plan the gorgeous wedding that you see in these photos!

The Wedding Ceremony at Our Lady of Calvary Catholic Church

Rachel and Nick have been waiting for this wedding day for a long time, and they had no doubt that it would take place at Our Lady of Calvary Catholic Church. This church means a lot to them because they have spent a lot of time there, and it is how they first met each other altar serving. It is a beautiful church with a charming atmosphere, and the couple felt right at home. They were surrounded by people they have known for a long time while they exchanged vows and rings. Everyone was so proud of them, and the couple was very happy that this day had finally come. Afterwards, it was time to head to the incredible Philadelphia Cricket Club to dance, party, and celebrate with friends and family!

As you can see, everything turned out fantastic! The food was as good as it looks, and the decorations were perfect! J&J Studios could tell that the couple was very pleased with how everything turned out, and they were ready to dance the evening away. One significant feature that stood out to our photographers was the Disney Mickey and Minnie cake topper. The couple had told us before when doing their engagement photos that they both love Disney and go on a Disney World trip every year, so it was awesome to see this tied into their wedding in some way. Overall, the guests were all enjoying themselves, the drinks were cold, the food was delicious, and the entertainment was a 10/10! Our photographers were welcomed in, and we could not think of a better group to spend our Saturday evening with!

About the Philadelphia Cricket Club

The Philadelphia Cricket Club is a private family-oriented country club located in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Interestingly, a few young men who wanted to continue playing games together after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania formed this establishment. It is now known as the oldest country club in the United States, dating back to 1854.
