Ellie and Evan’s journey to the altar wasn’t without its challenges. But it was all so worth it. An elopement at the Philadelphia Art Museum is bound to be elegant. After all, the age-old Greek revival architecture features a stunning Art Deco building where guests can dance the night away and a garden filled with historical bronzes that adds an element of interest like no other. This lovely couple’s wedding had the perfect blend of grandeur and elegance. Ellie and Evan’s Philadelphia Museum of Art elopement was an unforgettable experience. 

J&J Studios had the privilege of being a part of Ellie and Evan’s wedding journey early on. We met them earlier this year after they reached out to us for help in planning an epic engagement shoot. The newly engaged couple was ecstatic about commemorating the special occasions and decided to host their engagement session at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. 

Ellie and Evan’s Love Story

Ellie and Evan met in Manayunk, a small town in Pennsylvania that hugs the Schuylkill River banks. The two went to high school together. However, it wasn’t until a few years they reconnected and became close friends. Ellie’s and Evan’s friendship quickly evolved into a romantic relationship. 

“We had so many things in common. We were both big foodies so we would go out to eat all the time and just try dishes on the menu. It was during those special times that we really had a chance to get to know each other on a different level. We confided in each other about everything. Evan became my best friend, ” Ellie remarked during our consultation interview. 

Ellie and Evan are testaments that when two are truly meant to be together, the universe always brings them back. To each other. 

Ellie and Evan’s Emotional Engagement 

Evan proposed to Ellie in January of this year.  He planned an intimate proposal at the home they shared. He decorated the house with balloons, streamers and adorned the entire house with candles. Evan’s proposal was romantic, and Ellie immediately said yes. Unbeknownst to Ellie, Evan had planned a beautiful celebratory with all their loved ones next door at the neighbor’s house. “It was the best day of my life. I had no idea that he was going to propose that day,” Ellie says as she recalls their engagement with a smile on her face. 

The couple decided to take their engagement pictures at the Philadelphia Museum Of Art. After all, the Philly Museum was where they had their first date, during which they witnessed a wedding take place. Four years later,  Ellie and Evan are finally having their special moment at the very same location. What a full-circle moment. 

Beautiful Philadelphia Museum Of Art Elopement

It was essential to Ellie and Evan to host their wedding at a meaningful place. They couldn’t have picked a better venue. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the city’s most iconic historical sites and is often described as Philly’s “cultural heart.” It was constructed in 1928 on the Fairmount. The green pastures, unique tapestries adorning the walls, and the classic bronze statues in the garden are elements bound to make any wedding an elegant event.  

Ellie and Evan’s elopement took place on a beautiful summer day. The skies were clear, and the sun enveloped the lovely couple as they exchanged their vows. Before the ceremony commenced, we took the couple’s portraits and The First Look photographs in the garden. Ellie looked absolutely gorgeous. She wore a simple yet elegant white gown with an eggplant bouquet of flowers. Evan’s charcoal classic charcoal suit was perfectly tailored, and together they complemented each other well. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Ellie and Evan kept their wedding intimate. Just a few close family members were in attendance to witness their union. Nevertheless, the elopement was filled with so much love and happiness. Ellie and Evan exchanged their heartwarming vows right under the charming rustic gazebo situated in the middle of the Philadelphia Museum Of Art garden. Of course, we captured every moment, including Evan’s exhilaration after they were finally married. 

After the wedding ceremony, we gathered Ellie and Evan’s families together for the pictures. We started out with a few snapshots of Ellie with her mom and dad, who were very excited that their only child had tied the knot. Next, we photographed Evan and his family. Of course, we snapped photographs of the newlyweds with their in-laws. The group family photo is one of our favorite snapshots from the wedding because it showcases the blending of the two families. 

It was vital that we successfully capture the romance that was definitely in the air for the after ceremony photos. We explored the grounds of the Fairmount and stole snapshots of the couples along the rocky roads, frolicking on the green pastures and on the front steps of the museum, which is our signature. 

We are so happy to have been a part of Ellie and Evan’s elopement and their journey to the altar. We wish the lovely couple a lifetime of love and happiness.
