Dayana and Matt chose to have their wedding at the Philadelphia Wedding Chapel located in the very heart of Philadelphia. Dayana and Matt were nothing short of a dream come true.

They set the bar high for first couples (and I mean high). Their Philly Wedding Chapel wedding was one from the heart, from their vows that pointed out all their quirks. PHILADELPHIA WEDDING CHAPEL

If you are looking for a traditional, religious or non-denominational wedding ceremony, the Philadelphia Wedding Chapel is a must-see. Their convenient location in Philadelphia’s East Falls makes it an attractive option for many brides and grooms to be. The price point is fair, and the ambiance is perfect. Its intimate, warm setting, great lighting–including marble columns that provide soft backlighting, and the French doors that open up to the nearby courtyard–make it an ideal venue for couples seeking an alternative to the traditional church hall wedding ceremony.

GETTING THE PARTY STARTED AT FAIRMOUNT

It’s always a beautiful moment when the bride and her bridesmaids start getting ready for the day. It was fun to capture these special moments at Fairmount Area Airbnb, where you couldn’t help but feel like you’re in a quaint little hotel with new best friends. There, we found our bride-to-be, nervously putting on last-minute makeup; her lovely and lively bridesmaids were sparkling as they flaunted their dresses. The morning was filled with laughter, champagne, and all sorts of jokes. You really get to experience how much fun these girls have together!

The groomsmen shared the spotlight with our groom in Bensalem, as J&J Studios was on hand to capture their time together and cheer them on. There is only so much you can do to prepare for your wedding day. Smiles, laughter, and overall joy were instilled through the process of getting ready for a wedding. Part of our team at J&J Studios was at Holliday in Bensalem with the groom and his groomsmen. They continued throughout the day up to the ceremony, documenting memories that will last a lifetime!

STRAWBERRY MANSION BRIDGE BRIDAL PORTRAITS

Dayana and Matt chose a vibrant, yet casual, setting for their wedding portraits: the Strawberry Mansion Bridge in Philadelphia. The Strawberry Mansion Bridge is a historic, Gothic Revival stone and masonry arched bridge that is part of Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park system. Historically significant, romantically beautiful, and photographically stunning, the Strawberry Mansion Bridge is one of Philadelphia’s most desirable locations for wedding and couple photographs.

It offers a picturesque backdrop for classic, yet modern, wedding portraits. We wanted to ensure that their pictures represent all sides of their personalities, so we chose an urban setting for fun and freshness, with mystery and romance inspired by a historic setting in Philadelphia.

MEET THE COUPLE: DAYANA & MATT

Dayana and Matt are a lovely couple whom we had the pleasure of photographing on their special day. They were brimming with energy and optimism about what the future holds for them. We can always tell if our clients have the spark — it’s like an aura or pheromone they give off.

You can see it in their photos, how they look at each other, and how enthused they are about the future. It brings joy to our hearts to think that Dayana and Matt will make a lovely family together with their children, who will grow up knowing the value of family more than most.

PHILADELPHIA WEDDING CHAPEL WEDDING CEREMONY

Every marriage starts with a first kiss. But the wedding of Dayana and Matt was something more than that. It was a union between love and friendship, between a man and a woman, and most importantly consent. They took time to look at each other so they would remember every detail of this special day – every smile, every tear, every laugh.
Dayana’s white dress brushed softly against the red carpet of the Philadelphia Chapel.

She couldn’t stop giggling with her father, as if she was a little girl at the amusement park. There were many happy faces and lots of smiling friends and family members watching Dayana walk down that aisle. Her gem-like teardrop earrings glistened in the light, and her bouquet of ivory roses and lily-of-the-valley swayed gently with each step she took, blooming like an ethereal cascade in her hands. You should have seen the delight in both their faces.

She then took her vows as seriously and faithfully as she did when she first met Matt. And Matt had no problem looking her right into her eyes nor stuttering throughout all his vows. With that, the wedding ceremony between Dayana and Matt came to an end. We took some family portraits together for memories of the event and then headed out to Art Museum for more bridal party portraits.

ART MUSEUM BRIDAL PARTY PORTRAITS

Dayana and Matt’s wedding took place at the Philadelphia Art Museum in Center City. The sun was shining, and everyone was feeling great. We shot bridal party photos outside the museum, then went inside to do some portraits as well. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is the perfect backdrop for portraits with a bridal party.

No matter what the weather is like, you can always find a romantic scene here. There’s plenty of places to shoot including some lush architecture and sculptures, fountains and waterfalls, modern architecture, and walled-in gardens to offer a variety of backdrops and locations.

CITY HALL BRIDAL PARTY PORTRAITS

It might seem like an unlikely and unromantic location for wedding portraits, but we always have fun doing them at City Hall in Philadelphia. We did more bridal party photos at Philadelphia City Hall. We don’t mind doing extra group shots until everyone is happy! When the bride and groom are so great to work with, that makes it even better!

They were such a fun couple to work with and just wanted photos of their bridal party, family, and friends. I think everyone had fun doing these photos at the marble steps at City Hall! Here are some of my favorites from that session.

RECEPTION AT RESTAURANT LANJERON

The reception at Dayana and Matt’s wedding was a very colorful affair in greens and creams from the flower vases, the flower arrangements, table decorations, and to top it all off — a huge three-tier cream cake. The dramatic and stunningly beautiful restaurant was lit with candles and flowers that filled the room with a gorgeous glow. The couple arranged centerpieces of pearl white hydrangeas, dusty miller, and burgundy glass orbs in a round vase filled with water as well as placed tall decorative tapers on long curving branches filled with deep green blooms.

It wasn’t the bride’s dress that caused this reaction, but the sheer fact that it was her. Her blonde hair was loosely styled around her face, and impeccably applied makeup complimented her porcelain skin. Her green eyes lit up as she surveyed the room, and her thin smile widened at the host of people who had come to share on their special day.

We were first treated to grand entrances and a first dance from the bride and groom, and then the toast from their best friends. The lights in the dining room and ballroom dimmed, then focused on the beautiful newlyweds. In typical Latin fashion, the crowd stood up, cheering and clapping their hands. After several romantic songs, everyone sat down to indulge in the lavish meal that had been prepared.

The party was in full swing by 8 o’clock as the guests mingled with Champagne and cocktails in hand. Popular music was played and everyone danced to the tunes. Finally, the cake was cut and cutting of the cake is always fun for everyone attending the wedding, it is always well received by the guests throughout their married life.

It was an amazing night, and we have nothing but great things to say about the couple and the vendors at this wedding. They made the bride and groom feel exactly how they wanted to on this special day – warm, welcomed, loved, and appreciated. We will definitely recommend these spots to others for any party or celebration because of their beautiful grounds and wonderful staff.

WINDING UP AT RESTAURANT LANJERON

The sky was dark; birds were chirping. Everybody had been waiting, talking and laughing. Dayana and Matt walked into everybody lined up lighting sparklers signaling the end of the wedding. They were smiling brightly, walking proudly towards each other as people cheered them.

The light of all those sparklers moving to a faster beat than that of a heartbeat seemed almost alive, sparkling in rhythm. Everybody watching the couple knew that they had found each other, and finally it was time to make their dream come true.
