Engagement at Race Street Pier

A view from a waterfront area always invokes a mood of peace, tranquility, and general happiness. This couldn’t be more true than being at the Engagement at Race Street Pier and the union of Lauren and Justin. This happy couple chose a special spot to memorialize their special event and a special photographer to capture their moments, John Ryan of J&J Studios of Philadelphia. But more about John a bit later.

Race Street Pier, located along the river at the intersection of Race Street and Columbus Boulevard opened in 2011 as the first park to be completed by DRWC. The design of Race Street Pier is a nod towards its original function as a bi-level shipping pier built-in 1896.
The Pier, situated south of the Ben Franklin Bridge and just north of Cherry Street Pier, has an upper level with a grand sky promenade and a lower level for passive recreation and social gathering. A sun-filled lower terrace supports a multi-purpose lawn, planting beds, and seating. The two levels are linked by amphitheater-style seating that wraps around the end of the pier and amplifies the sense of magic associated with being on the edge. The Pier allows for rare views of the River, Bridge, and Center City skyline all at once.
The park serves as a main stop along the Delaware River Trail, which will connect with the East Coast Greenway and the Spring Garden Greenway, making it a key part of The Circuit.

With this lovely setting you can certainly understand why Lauren and Justin chose Race Street Pier for their engagement photo session. The setting is fun and casual, and you can see from the pictures here that they fully enjoyed frolicking about on what appears to have been a beautiful Summer day. Along with the moments they are creating to memorialize this special day, the Race Street Pier offers an expansive view of sections of Philadelphia near the waterfront.

You can see that the mood of the setting had Justin literally sweeping Lauren off her feet! The young couple took their time to stroll through the area to capture their happiness as the worked with photographer John Ryan to seek out the perfect settings to exemplify the joy of this day. After all they are embarking on what is the beginning of their journey towards marriage and their life together as man and wife.

The sparkle of the engagement ring that Justin placed on Laurens finger is only outshined by the bright sunlight of the day itself. And photographer John Ryan has captured more of these moments as you will see. The Race Street Engagement of Lauren and Justin is a beautiful moment in time that will live on through film.

As we see from the pictures here, the couple thoroughly enjoyed sharing the moments together created in part by their photographer, John Ryan of J&J Studios of Philadelphia. John Ryan is an award-winning photographer and of Philadelphia’s premier wedding photographers. However, as you can see John is not limited to just weddings or locations. As seen here, John can capture and memorializes the special moments for events such as engagements, christenings, Bar and Bats Mitzvah’s, corporate and sporting events, and professional and family portraits. And John has captured these moments in all parts of Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and many other areas where his talents are in demand. Pretty much just about anything where the participants wish to capture their events on film by someone who can bring his talents to the occasion. John’s keen eye is invaluable in transferring what he sees in his head to what he sees in his eyes in order to set the stage for his photos. The lighting, the backdrop, the poses are just a few of the tools that John imparts to make special moments jump out of any photos he takes.

John takes the time to get to know his subjects and discuss with them what they mutually believe will be the best approach to achieve the finished product he and they are looking to achieve. If you are planning an event that you are looking to be photographed by a highly skilled and talented photographer then please visit John Ryan of J&J Studios of Phildelphia – you won’t be sorry!
