Engagement shoots are a versatile type of photo shoot. They can be whatever the couple wants them to be. They can be casual, fun, romantic, or glamorous. It all depends on what it is the couple wants and who they are! Heather and Hugo went with an elegant engagement photography session in Philly’s ritzy Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. The Location: Rittenhouse Square

Rittenhouse Square is one of the original five squares planned in the late 1600s by Philadelphia’s founder, William Penn. This neighborhood is known for its luxury residences, high-end retail stores,  and wonderful cuisine. It’s also known for the park that sits at its center. This park shares its name with the neighborhood.

Also, the historic Rittenhouse Square neighborhood sits in the center of downtown Philadelphia. It stretches from Market to South Streets from north to south, and from Broad Street to the Schuykill River banks from east to west.

Rittenhouse Square Elegant Engagement Attire

Heather wore a gorgeous fitted dress for Hugo and her Rittenhouse Square elegant engagement. This ivory mermaid silhouette gown displayed a large gold floral design. This design extended up into the gown’s high illusion neckline. Our favorite thing about Heather’s dress, though, was its skirt. Ivory ruffled layers cascaded down from the fitted part of the dress, and overlapped over a transparent panel that shared the same gold floral design on the rest of the dress.

Meanwhile, Hugo wore a smart navy suit cut to fit him perfectly. His gold tie and pocket square matched the gold floral design on Heather’s dress. We loved that this was a fashionable way to show their bond!

Hugo did a great job picking out Heather’s ring. Her ring boasts a large round diamond on a white gold band. It’s a sleek and elegant design that went perfectly with her gorgeous outfit!

Iconic Philadelphia Landmarks

Additionally, we included a few iconic Philadelphia landmarks in this elegant engagement photography session. 

Parc was one of these Rittenhouse Square landmarks. Parc is a restaurant that calls itself a “tribute to the beloved French bistro.” We loved the way that the color of its walls contrasted with Hugo and Heather’s elegant engagement attire! Plus, how gorgeous is that shade of emerald green?

We also included another iconic Philadelphia landmark: Philadelphia’s City Hall. This Second Empire style building is beautiful and perfectly located for photos. It’s also the largest municipal building in the United States!
