Alex brightened up a winter afternoon by proposing to Sarah at Hershey, PA’s Troegs Independent Brewing. She was so surprised, but she said yes!

About the Location: Troegs Independent Brewing

Troegs Independent Brewing was founded in Hershey, PA in 1997 by brothers Chris and John Trogner. Though it’s grown from two to roughly 250 employees, Troegs prides itself on remaining a small, family business and brewery.

Troegs’ Perpetual IPA is the best-selling IPA in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The brewery employees live in central Pennsylvania, and Troegs Independent Brewing makes a point of supporting local farmers, as well. They do this by purchasing hundreds of thousands of pounds of local grain, fruit, and honey every year, which they use in making their beers. 

Troegs Independent Brewing Proposal

Alex and Sarah stopped by Troegs Independent Brewing on a sunny winter afternoon in Hershey, PA. As the pair walked among the stacks of barrels of beer, Alex got on one knee with a little square box in his hands. He opened the box and asked Sarah to marry him – and she said yes!

After placing the gorgeous ring on her finger, Alex and Sarah shared a big hug. It warmed our hearts to see this pure display of love!

Of course, the pair had to toast to their engagement – with a beer, naturally! We love how you can clearly see that Sarah is still smiling, even as she takes a sip of her beer.

The ring Alex gave Sarah was elegant and stunning. The large, emerald cut diamond sat on a gold band in a timeless but beautiful design. Alex picked well – both when it came to the ring and to his future wife! 

The Engagement Photography Session

The wooden barrels in the brewery made an interesting and attractive background for Sarah and Alex’s proposal and engagement photos. The barrels are uniform in size and shape, which makes them appealing as a background. However, the colors and grains of the wood vary, which is what makes them distinct from one another and visually interesting.

J & J Studios’ favorite photos from this engagement photography session were these. Alex and Sarah stood in front of the most massive wooden beer barrels we’ve seen in a while. Due to their size, the barrels made for both a dramatic and a dynamic background.

J & J Studios also loves these photos, taken in front of Troegs Independent Brewing’s entrance sign. The living wall where the sign is displayed is also a cool feature. We love how it adds life – literally – to these engagement photos!
