Vaidahi + Lokesh | Philly Museum of Art Engagement + City Hall

Vaidahi + Lokesh made the trek up from DC to Philly just for their Philly Museum of Art Engagement shoot that ALMOST didn’t happen! The entire morning, it rained off and on, and I was afraid the shoot would be a no go. And then, somehow, mid-afternoon, the clouds parted and it was on. Atop the Rocky steps, a huge puddle had accumulated from the rain, providing the perfect reflection for an epic city vista. Somehow the stars aligned for these photos. Had it not rained so much that morning and then miraculously cleared up hours before the shoot, this photo would not exist. I truly hope this epic image ends up on this lovely couple’s wall.
Here’s a beautiful engagement picture from the back of the Art Museum. On the back of the art museum, there is a beautiful rotunda that overlooks the Schuylkill River. The sun was setting so we snapped some quick pictures as the last rays of sunlight lit up the scene.
On the pathways leading up to the Rocky Steps, there was beautiful golden sunlight coming through the trees so we thought it was a perfect location for some couple’s portraits.
We finally made our way to the front of the Art Museum, and thankfully, due to the rain, there was no one there.
We then made our way to City Hall for the epic “Broad Street Bride” shot. After dodging a few photo bombers, we got the perfect shot.
Inside City Hall, the Christmas Village was set up featuring a carousel. We thought it would be cool to do a few motion blur shots here and we are quite pleased with the results. We couldn’t decide on color or black and white–so we posted both!
Vaidahi + Lokesh plan to wed September 18, 2020 in California. We wish them the best! Are you interested in a Philly Museum of Art Engagement session? Contact us today! Are you getting married?
