There is always a start to the day for a soon to be married couple as they prepare to move forward in their life’s journeys by planning their nuptials. In this case Kristine and Ernie have obviously planned well as you will see in this collection of photographs documenting their special event. They, along with photographer John Ryan, have made excellent choices as they proceed with the start of their day in preparation as well as the transition to ceremony, and then well-deserved celebrating!

Everything starts with the practical part of getting ready for the festivities of the day. For the Bride it is of course getting together with her Bridesmaids as she prepares to don her gown and getting additional support from her Mom.

The wedding gown of any Bride is the focal point of a wedding day. In this case, it’s no exception that Kristine’s gown is front and center of her day. The intricate detailing is beautifully exquisite and John Ryan has that so expertly in several shots.

The groom has his time as well to piece together his ensemble to ready himself for his Bride, and Ernie has gathered his Groomsmen to help him prepare for his special day. It can be both an exciting as well as nerve-racking time for all of this preparation as there’s an eagerness that approaches the time for the ceremony to happen as well as the nerves of going through the formalities associated with it.

Like his Bride to be, Ernie has the support and comfort of his Mom as both prepare for what is about to happen as the nuptials get closer at hand.

It is very special when a Father gets to view his daughter for the first time. It can bring a flood of emotions of joy, happiness, and possibly a bit of sadness as he realizes his “little girl’ is not so little anymore, and she is moving on as a young adult to begin her new life as someone’s wife.

While there will be many opportunities to capture many moments of this special day, it is important for a photographer to ensure the Bride and Groom and their Bridal Party are captured in a selection of more formalized shots. This ensures that the couple will have many wonderful photographs that captures their special day to enjoy for years to come.

As mentioned earlier, the day can be full of a mix of emotions, and the Bride and Groom both are no exception. Here you can see Ernie has reached point where the events of the day – the excitement, the pressure, the love have all brought him to this moment where his loving Bride helps to console him.

Along with the more formal poses, there was time for a quiet casual moment on the lawn for some private time.

The outside setting provided a wonderful backdrop for the couple as the wind provided a great optical effect to showcase the Bride’s beautiful veil.

While there are many opportunities for formal shots, there is always room for some fun for the Bride and Groom and their choice of special folks as their Bridal Party to have some fun!

It’s very well known that Philadelphia has an abundance of phenomenal backdrops that find their way through many different occasions. One of these is the Philadelphia City Hall building. This unique structure stands majestic towards the end of Broad Street and is topped by a statue of William Penn, who the state is named after. But for this couple it provides an interesting backdrop on a clear sunny wedding day.

As the evening light begins to set it provides an interesting setting for the combined Bridal Party to pair up with their partners accompanied with some lovely above lighting.

This shot is reminiscent of an old Beatles album, where they were walking across a popular street in London.

One more interesting building, the Philadelphia Art Museum.

The following shots capture the lovely ceremony the Bride and Groom are about to undertake, along with several impressive shots of the stunning interior of the church.

Now that the ceremony is finished, it’s time to really begin the celebrating as the invited guest get ready to move on to the cocktail hour and reception.

Each table was graced with a gorgeous bouquet of a beflowered centerpiece.

Along with the abundance of beautiful flowers is of course an equally beautiful wedding cake.

Besides traditional speeches, there is always the traditional dances between a Father and his daughter, the Bride, and equally touching is the Groom dancing with his Mother.

Cutting the cake is always a fun, intimate moment for the Bride and Groom as it symbolizes the sharing of their lives together.

And what reception would be complete without a lot of dancing!

There is always a great deal of toasting as the attendees of any wedding work to celebrate the union of the newly married couple. And why not? It’s a big event of course for the couple, but also for the attendees who have been fortunate enough to share all of the special moments of the days.
