Philadelphia’s iconic John F. Kennedy Plaza — better known as LOVE Park — is most famously the home of Robert Indiana’s iconic (and highly Instagrammable!) LOVE statue, which has resided in the space almost continuously since 1976. But that essential piece of Philly public art is just one of many things to explore and enjoy at this Center City West space, which also offers green areas, a fountain, walking paths, seatings and the LOVE Park Visitor Center, which opened in May 2021. The park is conveniently located near City Hall, offering views of the architectural treasure and all the activities that take place in its shadow. You can see below that this lovely couple, Melissa and Alfredo, ventured into Love Park, with Melissa taken totally by surprise at Alfredo’s takes the traditional one knee bend to share his desire to have Melissa accept his proposal of marriage. And then the actual ring is place on her finger, and from her expression we realize that the answer is YES!

Along with the LOVE art piece in the park, the iconic Philadelphia City Hall. This added yet another wonderful dimension for the Best Love Park Proposal for Melissa and Alfredo’s special day.

Philadelphia City Hall is the seat of the municipal government of the City of Philadelphia in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Built in the ornate Second Empire style, City Hall houses the chambers of the Philadelphia City Council and the offices of the Mayor of Philadelphia.^[6][7]

This building is also a courthouse, serving as the seat of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania. It houses the Civil Trial and Orphans’ Court Divisions of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County.^[8][9][10]

Built using brick, white marble and limestone, Philadelphia City Hall is the world’s largest free-standing masonry building and was the world’s tallest habitable building upon its completion in 1894. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1976; in 2006, it was also named a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Civil Engineers.^[11]

The evening ends with the sparkle of the outdoor lights as the couple slowly walk together, soaking up the moment and the night surrounding them. While simple and unplanned, this moment will remain special for them for the many years ahead they spend together.
